Economic woes have companies pushing holiday celebrations back to the last possible moment or even canceling them completely. With belt tightening in all sectors caterers are feeling that cinch with a big reduction in holiday parties scheduled both in business and at home. Normally December is the biggest month of the year for many but not this year. Florida caterers are reporting a drop in business for the holidays. Many are seeing fewer and scaled back parties and celebrations. It will be another few weeks before we know how well restaurant will fare in this holiday season. Many restaurants experience a boost in sales as exhausted shoppers op to go out the dinner since they are out anyway. This year may find many of them staying home for shopping and meals. Restaurants are going to have to give them a reason to go out. |
